Joining the Hi-Mar Striper Club
It is Easy to Join the Hi-Mar Striper Club!!
We have an open invite policy for any perspective members. We encourage anyone interested in joining our club to attend one of our monthly meetings which occur on the first Tuesday of the month at the Highlands Community Center 22 Snug Harbor Ave., Highlands, NJ. Meetings start at 7:30PM Promptly.
If you decide to join, there is a one month probation period for all new members. The club requires a $50 fee to process this application. After the one month probation period has passed, the club will formally make a motion to accept you into the club as a full member. The fee for membership for the year is $100. Your $50 application fee goes to this yearly membership fee, leaving a $50 balance for full membership once you are accepted into the club.
Membership gives you a small discount at some local area tackle shops. It also gives you access to attend monthly club meetings where you will gain access to a network of some of the areas top fishermen. This is where our club secrets on fishing techniques are revealed. We try to offer a guest speaker or a club member to give a presentation at each monthly meeting. We are always evolving our fishing techniques and would love to help you to do so as well as a member.
Our club runs a spring and fall Striped Bass Fishing Tournament each year. These tournaments are open to the public. These are popular tournaments which help promote our sport as well as provide a competitive environment for the area’s top fishermen. We also have an inter-club fishing tournament. Prizes are given out at our clubs yearly awards dinner based on the largest fish of each eligible species, as well as an overall top angler award based on a points system. This is a fun way for club members to be competitive and to show off their top catches of the year.
The Hi-Mar Striper Club runs a Fishing Flea Market each February where vendors sell both new and used fishing tackle. We also offer a small seminar series at the flea market where the public can learn about various fishing techniques or products.
The club also takes part in local charities. We always give back to our community whenever possible. At times it may be in the form of monetary donations, or through offering our services volunteering. Our club runs educational fishing trips each season where members volunteer to take out various groups on local charter boats to promote fishing. We encourage members to take part in whatever way they can.
